Ankle Tag Series 3 on BBC Radio 4

Appropriately enough for a sitcom about a man trapped indoors by an electronic tracking tag, Series 3 of brilliant Radio 4 sitcom Ankle Tag has been recorded entirely from home! Using a combination of technical ingenuity, high-speed internet and bits of egg crates stuck on the walls, the show has gone on!

And I’m in it!

Ankle Tag is the story of Bob (Steve Speirs), a convicted fraudster who manages to con his way into living with his son Gruff (Elis James) and Gruff’s wife Alice (Katy Wix) after he’s released from prison, tethered to their family home by his eponymous ankle tag during his parole. It’s written by Ben Partridge (of The Beef and Dairy Network Podcast) and Gareth Gwynn, both modern day Prometheuses of comedy writing, and did I mention Steve Speirs, Elis James and Katy Wix? Gosh.

I’m over the moon to have been asked to contribute, and can be heard playing a couple of roles in Series 3, Episode 1, first airing on BBC Radio 4 tonight, Thursday 28th May 2020 at 6:30pm, and then available on BBC Sounds after broadcast. I strongly recommend catching up with Series 1 and 2 first, they’re all up on BBC Sounds right now and they make for a delightful listen. It’s the perfect tonic for 2020’s lockdown blues, and it’ll make you think ‘I may be trapped self-isolating at home, but at least I wasn’t arrested for fraud and put in prison for five years only to be let out on parole and tagged with an electronic bracelet’.
